20th "Ba' Yaad-e-GHALIB
Tarhai Mushaera
In the Classical age of
Urdu Poetry - when MIR, Ghalib, Zoaq and Sowda produced the gems of Urdu
poetry - all Mushaeras used to be Tarhai Mushaeras. In a Tarhai Mushaera,
a line is presented to would-be poets in advance, with designated Rhyme
(Qaafia) and a Post-Rhyme (Radeef) to compose their verse in the same
Metre and Format.
Athar Razvi, Founder and President
of Ghalib Academy (Canada) has been preserving this unique legacy of
Urdu Poetry by holding an Annual Tarhai Mushaera in memory of Asad Ullah Khan GHALIB,
the poet-genius of Urdu wherein a line (Misrah) of Ghalib's couplet is
selected and forwarded to the poets to compose their versification.
Athar Razvi is
justifiably proud of this feat as nowhere in Urdu World such an Event is
held on annual basis.

Mushaear was conducted at Ghalib Academy which was a great success as
usual. Tarhai Misrah was ;
